Full depth reclamation is a technique whereby the full pavement section and a predetermined portion of the underlying materials are uniformly pulverized and blended, which results in a stabilized base. The base may be further stabilized through the use of additives.

It is critical to the success of the full depth reclamation process that preliminary testing establishes a design criteria for graduation, residual asphalt content, and the possible use of additives for further base stabilization. The analysis of traffic data will also help to determine the surface thickness required when this type of reconstruction technique is used.

The benefits of full depth reclamation are the ability to correct deficient cross sections, the increased load bearing strength of the base, and the 100% utilization of the existing materials.

Full depth reclamation can also be used on surface treated roadways. The same process is utilized with the same benefits being realized.

Roto-Mill Inc. is able to assist in providing a substantial savings to the Customer through the full depth reclamation process while meeting environmental goals at the same time.
